FileRise Pro – Terms of Service

Last updated: 16 November 2025

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your purchase and use of FileRise Pro licenses and the FileRise Pro add-on bundle provided via filerise.net. By purchasing a license or using FileRise Pro, you agree to these Terms.

1. FileRise core vs FileRise Pro

The main FileRise application (“FileRise core”) is open-source and licensed separately under the MIT License at https://github.com/error311/FileRise .

FileRise Pro is a closed-source, commercial add-on bundle that provides additional features (for example: branding options and Pro-only endpoints). The terms in this document apply only to FileRise Pro and the purchase of Pro licenses.

2. Purchases and payment

Payments for FileRise Pro licenses are processed by Stripe. By completing a purchase, you confirm that:

3. Digital products and delivery

After a successful payment, the system will:

You are responsible for downloading and safely storing your license key and Pro bundle.

4. License grant and restrictions

Your purchase grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

You may not:

The detailed license terms for the Pro bundle are also included in LICENSE-Pro.txt inside the Pro ZIP. In case of any conflict, the terms in that file apply to the use of the Pro add-ons on your servers.

A FileRise Pro license is a one-time purchase for the current major version line (for example, FileRise Pro 1.x). It does not guarantee that specific features will be available forever, or that future major versions (for example, 2.x) will be included for free, unless explicitly stated otherwise at the time of purchase.

5. Refunds

Because FileRise Pro is a digital product delivered immediately after purchase, refunds are not guaranteed. If you encounter technical issues activating your license, you may contact the maintainer with your purchase details, and reasonable efforts will be made to help resolve the issue.

6. Self-hosting and responsibility

FileRise Pro is designed to be installed on servers you control. You are solely responsible for:

This website and the FileRise Pro bundle do not manage your self-hosted data; that is entirely under your control.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

FileRise Pro is provided “as is” and “as available”, without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. There is no guarantee that FileRise Pro will be error-free or uninterrupted.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the author of FileRise and FileRise Pro shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages (including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business interruption) arising from or relating to the use or inability to use FileRise Pro, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

The total aggregate liability, if any, for claims arising out of or relating to your use of FileRise Pro shall not exceed the amount you paid for the license.

9. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. When changes are made, the “Last updated” date will be adjusted. If you continue to use this site or FileRise Pro after changes are posted, you are agreeing to the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using FileRise Pro and this site.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

11. Product changes, support, and pricing

11.1 Changes to FileRise Pro

FileRise Pro is an evolving product. Features, implementation details, and the contents of the Pro bundle may change over time. New features may be added, modified, or removed, and existing features may be improved or refactored, as long as the overall functionality of FileRise Pro remains generally consistent with its description at the time of purchase.

11.2 Version support

From time to time, older versions of FileRise core or the FileRise Pro bundle may no longer be actively supported (for example, when security updates or compatibility changes require updates to newer versions). There is no obligation to provide updates indefinitely for older versions, and you may need to upgrade your FileRise core and/or Pro bundle to continue receiving fixes or new features.

11.3 Pricing changes

The price for new FileRise Pro licenses may be changed at any time for future purchases. Price changes do not affect licenses you have already purchased; an increase or decrease in price does not entitle you to a refund or additional payment.
