Renew updates

All purchases issue a signed FRP1... license string and a Pro bundle ZIP. You can activate via the Admin → FileRise Pro screen, or by dropping a JSON license file into users/proLicense.json on your FileRise server.

What every FileRise Pro license includes

Regardless of which plan you pick, the actual Pro features you get are the same. The difference is usage rights, instance limits, and support level.

User groups – assign folder permissions to named groups instead of managing every user individually.
Client upload portals – branded intake portals with optional forms, per-portal rules, and a submission log.
Storage / disk usage explorer – quickly see which folders and files are taking the most space.
Sources (Pro storage adapters) – connect multiple storage backends such as S3-compatible, SFTP, FTP, Google Drive, WebDAV, and SMB.
Branding controls – custom header logo and colors to match your brand.
Search Everywhere (ACL-aware) – one search box across all folders you’re allowed to see, with ACL-respecting results and instant navigation.
Local validation – your license is checked locally with a public key; no background calls to filerise.net are required for Pro to continue working.
No telemetry – FileRise core and Pro do not send usage tracking data to filerise.net.
Perpetual use of the last eligible bundle – 12-month updates plans only gate new updates; your current Pro bundle stays active until you choose to renew.

FAQ about FileRise Pro licenses

Is FileRise core still free?

Yes. FileRise core is open-source and MIT-licensed. You can run it forever without buying Pro. Pro just unlocks additional features and helps fund development.

Do I have to pay every year?

No. Not a subscription. Your purchase includes 12 months of updates. After that, Pro keeps working; renewal is optional and only needed for new updates/support.

What happens when updates expire?

Nothing stops working. You just won't receive newer Pro bundles until you renew.

Example: Buy on today -> updates included until next year. You can keep using that Pro version after next year; renewal is only if you want newer updates.

How do Business licenses handle 3 instances?

12-month updates plans can be bound to Instance IDs. Checkout collects one Instance ID to start. You can add additional Instance IDs (up to 3 total for Business) at /pro/instances.php using your current license key. Instance IDs are shown in Admin -> FileRise Pro.

Can I switch from Early Supporter to a 12-month updates plan later?

Yes. Early Supporter is a one-time lifetime license for FileRise Pro 1.x. If you later want 12 months of updates for new bundles or business use, you can just purchase a 12-month updates plan and activate it on the same instance.
